I was going to copy and paste my bio from my website in here, but decided otherwise! I’m not in that mood at this moment.
I am the lead-singer, Manager and Exec. Director of Musical Project, think13.
I love my job!
For the first time in my life, I am able to work at what I love to do; not everyone has the honor of saying that. I’m deeply grateful that my years of music, theatre, writing and performance training have led me to a place where I am thrilled to be at, despite the constant fears that come with being a full-time artist, and the learning curve that comes rightfully with it.
I am honoured to be a featured artist on this amazing new website, and many thanks to the beautiful and talented Deirdre Powell for asking me to come on board. And to Danny for getting on my case to send over material :)
I have 1000’s…. really, 1000’s of poems sitting in volumes of journals, waiting for attention.
Writing has been a huge outlet for me. There are times when verbal communication comes to a halt and something inside is burning to be expressed no matter what.
As a healer, I understand the necessity to express emotions, whether they feel good or bad, they all must be recognized in order to heal and be released. Stuck emotions have led me to some of the grimmest times of my life and some of the poorest choices, so writing has been my saviour, my rehab, my peace.
From my absolute need to write, came a talent I never knew existed: painting. This has also been water to quench burning emotions.
People who have read my poetry or listened to my music, often come to me and tell me how much I’ve inspired them, or how much what I sing about is exactly what’s going with them at the present and they can’t stop listening to my songs!
That makes it all worth it. To know that I’ve touched or inspired someone when they needed it the most, that motivates me to keep moving forward and trust in the unknown.
At times when I feel like I’ll never ‘make it’ or will never be ‘good enough’, something, almost Divine, happens. That intervention, sometimes huge, sometimes minuet, will always tip me on my shoulder and say “remember why you’re here… You are awake.
All is not what it seems...smoke and mirrors illusion. You are the creator of your destiny. You have the Power within”.
After studying for 6 years under Taoist Pagan Priestess Suzy Peltier; for 4 years under Tibetan Buddhist Teacher, Nestor Perez in SF; and 1 year with Gnostic Web, in Berkeley, CA, I knew it was my job to pursue only that which meant something important to me…my divine purpose.
I conceptualized and wrote the story of our current show “Balance”. This was purely the result of that bigger Force (that is in everything and everyone) jolting me to DO SOMETHING at this point in time on our planet. What are we here for? How can I help? These questions plagued me day in day out until finally the penny dropped.
Our own personal gifts and talents ARE the reason we are here, are the reason the We can make a difference. We are the people we’ve been waiting for.
With think13, I found a way to combine my art, music, acting and spiritual training into one creation, and put it to good use.
This is my daily mantra: “I Am Awake. I Am Powerful. I Am beautiful. I can handle whatever comes my way. I Am Love manifest. I Am Universal light. I Am Universal Balance. I Am That I Am.”
