Mysterious Devil
Mysterious Devil

The music started playing again; piercing trumpets, a steady beat of the drum, and the rhythm of the guitar combine and fill the large venue with music. The room was crowded, making heat hang over the audience like a cloud. Although the heat in the air didn’t compare to the fire felt between the concert goers.
A circle opened up, and a few guys ran around it. The guys were punching each other, and attempting to dance. After a few minutes, the energy wore thin and everyone emptied out of the circle, except one.
There he danced in the center of the room. Everything was in slow motion. Everyone’s eyes were drawn to him. This mysterious man was dressed in only tight black pants, leather combat boots and a solid black top hat. He moved throughout the circle, gliding everywhere from one side to the other as sweat dripped from his bare chest. His striking blue eyes were as deep as the ocean and his jaw line could cut diamonds.
The guys clapped while the girls stared. He joined in with the band’s lyrics, singing in all the right spots and flirting with the audience. Suddenly he turned to face me, giving me an all-knowing smile. His black chin length hair framed his face while blue eyes looked deep into my soul. Soon he was right next to me. With a wink and a soft finger on my chin, I was taken by him. As he moved around the room, it was as if he was no longer on earth, but in a hot, fiery hell.
The audience stared at him. Women captivated by his appeal, men jealous of his dance moves. He was the center of attention. Like the lead singer in the band, he went from woman to woman seducing them; caressing their skin, and toying with their minds.
Soon more people began to join in the circle. As the song ended, the circle closed up and everyone cheered. The dark stranger disappeared just as quickly as he had appeared at the beginning of the song. We had all been charmed by the mysterious devil.

The Music Room

The unused room falls dark behind the thin white curtains as the autumn sun began its long descent behind the old maple trees. The air was still and smelled of mildew within the dreary room. Lying on a dusty oak bench was an old violin and it’s wooden bow. The violin had a thin layer of grime covering it’s elegant black fingerboard and dust rested upon it’s smooth wooden body. The once vibrant instrument lay old and forgotten. Behind the bench, a picture hung on the wall. The picture shows a weathered old boat fighting with the tumultuous ocean. The frame around the picture was made of dark mahogany and was hand carved by the artist. A thin coating of dust lay on the frame giving the wood an eerie silver glow. The old recluse who lived in the house had not entered the forgotten room in five years.

The Old Lady

The aged, weather-lined face radiated in the delicate soft glow of the Sicilian moon. A gentle breeze swept past the woman’s face and floated through her long, silver lochs. Her wrinkled, leather-colored lips parted as she breathed in the dry air of the country. Long lustrous lashes rose and fell upon their tired lids, hiding the half-moon eyes in the sunken cavern of her brow. A crimson bended necklace hung low around her aged bosom. On her rigid shoulders lay a shawl. Its soft cotton folds rested there, daring to slip off the cliffs of her arms. Barely visible under the shadowy shawl, the dandelion colored cloth of her shirt peeked through. The shawl lay to rest on the outward swell of the woman’s bottom. There, the dark scarlet shirt fell straight down her legs. The skirt rustled around her swollen ankles as she casually swept through the street. The ragged, frayed sandals clung to her feet as if there was an unseen cord stretched binding them together. The woman glided through the crowded cobblestone pathway towards the radiant historical cathedral.

Finally

After five years of building tension, he was finally on his way over. Millions of thoughts raced through her mind. The doorbell chimed in the background, and her heart jumped.
It was time.
One last look in the mirror showed long tanned legs rising up from perfect muscular ankles. A single silver chain encircled her right ankle and rested delicately above the bone. The black spaghetti-strapped nightie was trimmed with white lace and lightly clung to every curve. Just under her short black dress lay black lace panties slightly covering her bottom. Her long brunette locks framed her beautiful face. Only a hint of makeup rested on her face. Dark eyes lined with auburn radiated back at her from the mirror. Eyelids were lightly shadowed in gold, and with a sigh, she shrugged her shoulders and turned towards the door.
As she unlocked the door and pushed it open, her eyes rested on his dark handsome face. All thoughts were forgotten. Standing in the doorway, the two bodies became one.
They were finally together.

The Birthday Party

“We shouldn’t be doing this anymore Josh” She whispered while pulling away from his strong muscular arms.
“Why? Why not, Anne? We’ve waited so long for this to happen.”
“Why not?, because Jenny is in the next room. What would she think if she saw us together like this?” Anne turned away to button up her white blouse that he had lovingly ripped open.
“She’ll understand…”
“No she won’t. Adam and I haven’t told her about the upcoming divorce yet. Speaking of Adam, he should be home any minute now, and as strong as my feelings are for you, I don’t want him to see us like this.”
“You are so cute when you get angry.” He said while slowly walking towards her, admiring every inch of her.
“Oh shut up, you just want to kiss me again”
“Among other things…” he rested his hands on her hips, and kissed her forehead “Listen, Jenny is fine, she is having a blast with her friends. Besides, you throw such a nice birthday party for you daughter, I really doubt she would tear herself away from that.”
“Thank you for saying that, you are sweet. But we can’t, last night was a mistake.” She quickly realized what she said, “A beautiful mistake.”
“At least you made a recovery;” he said jokingly. “Did you know I’ve been in love with you for almost fifteen years, and guess what?”
“What?”
“I know you’ve felt the same way about me.”
“You know huh? Ok, how do you know?” she playfully hit his chest.
“Remember when we were in college? The nights we stayed up talking and joking?”
“I remember those nights well. But how did you know how I feel about you?”
“Simply?” She nodded. “I could hear it in your voice, and when we went out, I could see it in your eyes. Just like I can see it in your eyes now.”
Overtaken by their feelings, the couple embraces in a long passionate kiss.
Slowly breaking away, Josh looked deep into her eyes and said “I love you.”
“I love you too” Anne whispered back.
“Mommy?” Jenny said from the doorway. Adam stood behind her in the doorway, glaring at the couple.

The Apple

Part One: The Mysterious Figure

It was a cloudy, overcast morning. Ever so often there would be a break in the clouds where the sun would show through the like a gateway to the heavens. The nearby fruit trees rustled in the breeze, seemingly enchanted with life and knowledge.
Leaning against an apple tree, Lucifer’s blue eyes glistened with mischief. He was dressed in a silver and black pinstriped suit with a scarlet tie hanging down from his tanned neck. His chin length black hair blew across his face as he looked down towards the leaves.
The dark angel was waiting for the perfect moment.

Part Two: The Restless Beauty

Restless after their daily dutiful sex, Eve rolled over on her back and stared into the sky. “I wonder what he looks like, Adam.”
Already asleep, Adam’s only response was a low-pitched grunt.
Alone again, Eve became lost in her thoughts. Her long blond curls flattened under her slender pale body. As the sun peeked through the clouds, Eve felt Him looking at them. Probably looking at Adam again, she thought.
Adam was always His favorite. It didn’t matter that Eve was so much more beautiful than Adam. He didn’t notice that her long, luscious locks waved in the wind; or that her cheeks redden every time she felt an unknown gaze rest upon her naked body—which seemed to be happening more often these days. She wanted to be loved by Him.
It was time to do something. Something to make Him notice her. She didn’t know what yet, but she would find something.
Eve wandered around the garden. She still felt like she was being watched, but the clouds had once again covered the sun. It couldn’t be Him again, she thought. Who was watching me?” she wondered. As Eve gathered a couple of Blackberries from the bush, she saw a dark figure leaning against a tree. He appeared to be staring directly at her. Scared, Eve dropped the berries and ducked below the bush.
Who was that? What was on his skin? Are those wings like the birds have? Why are his so much larger than that of the birds? she thought. Eve gazed through the leaves to look at the mysterious guy, but he was gone.
Curiosity at its peak, Eve stood up and looked around for this mysterious man. How could someone vanish like that? She went over to the tree he was leaning against. Only now did she discover that it was ornamented with bright red orbs. A sweet aroma decorated the air around her.
I will have to tell Adam about this tree. Maybe Adam will tell Him that I found it, and He will tell me I did a good job. As she turned around to retrace her steps back to Adam, Eve saw the second tree. This tree was leafier and had yellow elliptical oblongs growing from the long brown stems. It too had a heavenly aroma emanating out of the branches.
I must get Adam! She thought as she rushed back through the great garden.
Eve stopped dead in her tracks; the odd man was standing right in her path. Not sure what she should do, Eve just stood still.

Part Three: The Temptation

“You must be Eve, hello. My name is Lucifer. Don’t be scared, I won’t hurt you.” His deep voice rang through Eve’s ears and down her spine like a gust of cold air. Light blue eyes glistened through strands of black hair. Lucifer’s hand reached up and took his top hat off, held it to his chest, and bowed down. His gray wings opened broadly and the gray feathers waved slightly in the wind.
Eve couldn’t take her eyes off Lucifer. He was very different looking than Adam. This man was handsome, strong, and bold. Where Adam was pale and blond, Lucifer was tanned and dark. Something drew Eve to him, a feeling of mystery, or an inkling of desire perhaps.
Lucifer stood, and moved closer to Eve. She really is His most beautiful creation, he thought. If I can seduce this beauty, she will be my greatest triumph.
“How did you get here?” Eve questioned him curiously.
“I flew of course. I can also appear from thin air as if by magic, but I didn’t want to frighten you.” Looking Eve obviously up and down, Lucifer said “I have much work to do in this beautiful garden.”
She thought about his answer for a second, and then asked “Does He know you are here?”
Lucifer laughed. “I’m sure he does, He knows everything. You know, you could be like Him if you wanted. There’s a tree over there that has enchanted fruit. If you eat an apple from it, you will know all that He knows, and have all of His powers.” This is going to be too easy, he thought.
“No, I’m going to go tell Adam, he will know what to do; and then he will tell Him.” Eve moved for the first time since she saw Lucifer.
Fearing she would leave, Lucifer lunged toward Eve, and wrapped his arms around her waist. “Just hang on a moment there sweetie. We shouldn’t wait too long to go try those tasty apples. Didn’t you smell the air? Isn’t their scent just to die for?” Seeing the fear in her green eyes, Lucifer quickly backtracked and released Eve from his arms. “Not to die for, I mean…it’s just a figure of speech, like…oh you wouldn’t know what that is, you are still young; never mind then;” he stammered.
Still worried, Eve backed away from this strange man. “I think I should go tell Adam now. You are scaring me. Please don’t come near me again.”
She pushed past him.
Maybe this will be a little harder than I originally thought. Lucifer thought as he flew up into the nearby apple tree to think of ways to seduce the beautiful Eve.

The sun had finally come out from behind the clouds. The warm air rushed past Eve’s body as she ran to wake up Adam. She couldn’t stop thinking of Lucifer and how handsome he looked standing there, holding her. When she reached Adam, lying in a heap like a rock, she shook him until finally he woke up.
“What? What do you want?” He groaned, obviously annoyed at being woken up.
“I saw someone. It was a man, like you. Except that he was different. His name was Lucifer. He grabbed me!” She tried to focus her attention on what was important—the new trees bearing ‘apples,’ or at least that’s what Lucifer called them. “I have to show you something, come with me!” She grabbed his arm and pulled it until Adam got up.
“The man was back this way, but never mind him. I want to show you the two trees I saw. They were growing large berries on them. One of the berries was yellow, the other one was red.”
Eve pulled Adam through the garden by his hand. Adam was still dazed from his dreams. He used his one free hand to rub his sore eyes; he noticed that everything looked familiar. “I’ve been here before—just a few moments ago, in my dream. He showed me the way to the two trees.”
“What? He spoke to you again? Why is it always you He speaks to?” Eve asked angrily.
Adam stammered for a moment, not sure what to say. “I don’t know, maybe he isn’t as impressed with you as he is with me.”
Eve was livid.
They reached the two trees in silence. Between the two trees lay a long creature, similar to a tree branch. It’s body was black with silver lines running down the sides of it’s body. It moved ever so slightly as Adam and Eve approached. A thin red line became visible under it’s head, like a tie.
“Sssalutations.” the creature said. As the creature begun to stand upright, it towered over Adam and Eve.
Adam was in charge of naming all of the creatures he came across in the Garden of Eden. “Hello, creature, I shall call you the Snake.”
Not taking very kindly to Adam’s belittling treatment, the snake ignored Adam, and spoke directly to Eve. “You know sssweetie, these treesss are magical. The have special powersss if you eat the fruit.”
Adam disregarded the snake. “No no no, in my dream, where He spoke to me, He told me that we must not eat the fruit, we may die if we do.”
“Die you sssay? No, not if you tassste the Pears from the Tree of Life right there. You ssseem ssso keen, why don’t you try one of thossse?” sneered the snake.
“What about those?” Eve asked, breaking her silence. “Those are beautiful. How do they taste? What is their magical power?”
“Those my sssweet, are Applesss. They will give you all the knowledge that He hasss. You will know all He knowsss if you eat a sssingle apple. Go try sssome.” The snake coaxed.
That phrase rang through Eve’s mind like an echo. She had just heard it from Lucifer. Maybe these fruits will kill me. I can’t take that risk she thought. But, what if I’m wrong. He looked me in the eye and told me they wouldn’t hurt me. Maybe with all His knowledge, He will notice that I am His equal. Adam will no longer be as special and He will notice me.
While Adam was inspecting the Pear tree, Eve reached up and grabbed a bright red apple. Feeling that mysterious gaze on her, Eve turned around to look at the black snake nodding in silent persuasion.
She bit in.
Juices rushed from inside the apple, streaming down her chin and on to her naked breast. The taste sent her mind into an overload of sweet ecstasy. Looking at the snake, she noticed something was amiss. The snake had lay down, and started to shrink in length and grow in width. Two wings began to protrude out of the snakes back. Dark grey scales turned to dull grey feathers. The red line down the chest turned into cloth. In just a few moments, the snake was replaced by no one other than Lucifer, himself—grinning wildly.
“I got you” he said, and winked playfully at Eve, as she fell unconscious to the ground.
